Should I go to counseling?

If you find yourself or your family experiencing distress that is affecting your everyday life, counseling might be right for you.  Our highly trained and compassionate therapists can show you how to navigate through uncertain times in your life.

Does your agency accept insurance?

Yes we accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Optum, Ulliance, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Oxford

Does Mindful Connections provide telehealth counseling?

YES! Please specify that you prefer virtual counseling when booking your appointment. If you would like to book an appointment use this website or call (480) 808-9535.

What is considered a mental health emergency?

Any situation that involves harm or imminent risk to a yourself or another person should be considered an emergency, such as:
  • Suicide attempts, suicidal threats, or suicidal thoughts
  • Homicide, homicidal threats, or homicidal thoughts
  • Forms of violent and intimidating behavior
  • Extreme emotional distress
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not there

How long are my counseling sessions?

Our sessions are 50 minutes, however, the first appointment, the intake is 60 minutes.  If you would prefer a 30 or 45 minute appointment, please let your therapist know.

Are my sessions confidential?

All sessions are confidential.  A therapist is a mandated reporter by law. 
 
Exceptions required by law: 
  • The therapist is required to report to the appropriate authorities immediately if child or elder abuse is suspected.
  • A client is threatening to harm another person
  • A client is threatening to harm his or herself

What are your fees?

We charge $150 per hour for a therapist with an unrestricted license. We do have discounted fees of $130 for when you book with a therapist with a restricted license. Those therapists will be supervised by our Clinical Director, Meryl Warda, LCSW. Intake appointments are booked for one hour and the rate is $150-$175 for the appointment.

What happens if I miss my appointment?

Keeping your appointments are very important.  However, if you cannot keep yours, please contact us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.  If you contact within the 24 hours or if you no-show, you will be charged a $50 fee.

Does your agency offer therapy for children?

Absolutely! In fact we have VERY experienced child therapists on staff who can help you and your child navigate through tough times.

It's okay to ask for help

We offer a free ten minute consultation. Our Clinical Director will match you with the therapist whose speciality will meet your therapeutic needs and who will be available at the most convenient time for you.
